Did you learn to juggle poi first?
Yes, poi was the first prop I learned to juggle with.
Do you prefer fire or LED for performance?
I prefer to perform with fire, because landing hard juggling patterns and contact tricks is much harder and more impressive when on fire.
Do you like performing or practicing better?
I prefer to practice more than performing usually, because I like to try new tricks and ideas rather than choreography.
What year did you start juggling/spinning?
After glow stringing for a year, I picked up my first pair of Cathedral Fire poi in the summer of 2007.
What do you like about poi?
I love poi for so many different reasons, but if I had to pick a few, I would say that the challenge of learning new tricks and being able to transition from trick to trick cleanly is very satisfying. Also, being able to express myself in a unique style that others can recognize from afar, and being inspired by others' unique style.
What inspires & pushes you in your flow journey?
I am incredibly inspired by many movement-based art forms and the people who are pushing their progression. I hope to inspire others to create and express themselves in a way that lets people see what is possible.
What do you enjoy the most about poi?
My favorite part about poi is the community and all the amazing and inspiring people I have met across the world over the past two decades of spinning.
